Visas differ from country to country, and if you allow them to, the terminology, jargon and application documents can get rather overwhelming. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Africa, Egypt’s visa policy is simple enough on paper but might need some clarification, especially for those busy tourists looking to complete their Egypt Visa Application as soon as possible.

As the home of fascinating ancient cultures, beautiful rivers and bustling cities, it’s unsurprising that Egypt is so far up many people’s travel bucket lists. The beautiful country’s capital Cairo is home to countless luxury resorts and great value accommodation for tourists of all types. If you’re planning a visit, however, you’ll need to fill out a few forms to ensure that you are allowed into the country.

There are two types of visas that are handed out to tourists, the Egypt eVisa and the Egypt Visa On Arrival. Both offer different things to tourists, and only nationals from specific countries are permitted to obtain them. This blog will explore what each type of visa does, how you and who can obtain them.

What Is The Egypt eVisa?

The Egypt eVisa is a document that all visitors to Egypt must fill out and obtain in order to gain access to Egypt. Whilst the document allows you access to the country, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee it. Border authorities can ascertain whether they think you meet immigration requirements regardless of your visa. Best to stay on the right side of them then!

It’s worth noting that your eVisa for Egypt will be valid for 90 days after it’s been issued. However, you are only permitted to stay in the country for 30 days at a time. Multiple entry visas are also available, allowing you multiple 30-day visits to Egypt within a period of 6 months.

Documents Required

The documents required for your Egypt Tourist Visa include a scan of your passport’s last page as well as the personal details on its front page. You will also need to attach a selfie photo with your payment card’s last 4 digits visible in the photo. You will only need to include one photo image in your online application process.

Process

Applying for the eVisa for Egypt is easy and will only take about 10 minutes of your time. Once you’ve complete your application, you will have to wait up to a week for it to be processed by your dedicated visa agent. It’s for this reason that it’s recommended that you begin your application a few weeks in advance of your trip.

What Is The Egypt Visa On Arrival?

The Visa On Arrival allows visitors to purchase their Egypt tourist visa when they land in the country. There are 41 countries that can purchase their visa on arrival rather than apply in advance. Countries that are allowed the visa on arrival include the entire EU, UK and the USA.
