The Ultimate Bali Bucket List: Bali Activities

1. Reside in Bali's Hanging Gardens

One of the island's most well-known swimming holes because it appears as though both pools are floating in the bush. If you want to visit Ubud and splurge on a luxurious stay, staying a night or two here should be on your Bali bucket list.

2. View Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu Temple, one of the island's most impressive temples, is perched high above the lake and is breathtaking. For a more spectacular experience, visit there during sunset, and it is one of the best places to go in Bali.

3. Go to the monkey sanctuary

It is undoubtedly among the top things to do in Bali and is situated in the tourist hotspot of Ubud. Visitor caution is advised. Although the monkeys appear pleasant and cuddly, they will aggressively steal whatever you have. Therefore, they do not come bearing gifts or provisions to feed them. Just stand back and observe them.

4. Order breakfast on a boat.

Did you even visit Bali if a brunch on a boat wasn't on your bucket list? Bali is known for its floating breakfasts available to visitors at almost all hotels and resorts.

Even though this is only a photo opportunity, plan how you will snap the pictures because the food will quickly go cold.

5. Gate Handara

Anyone visiting Bali in the past two years has captured this scene on camera and added their unique touch. It is the entrance to a golf course, and people are lining up outside to take pictures. The lack of water in some of the more exciting photographs causes tourists to be misled until they arrive. The local photographers use a mirror to create the water and reflection effects in the images.

6. Pura Luhur Uluwatu

The Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of the nine significant Hindu temples on the island, is located on the Bukit Peninsula at the southernmost point of Bali, the best place to go in Bali. The temple was constructed in the 11th century on top of a limestone cliff protruding into the ocean.

7. Kuta Beach

Kuta, formerly a small fishing hamlet, sprang to renown as a fantastic surfing location in the 1970s, and it has been Bali's top tourist area ever since. One of the island's best-kept and most beautiful beaches is the long, broad length of sand near the settlement of Kelurahan on the southern tip of the island.

8. Tegallalang Rice Terraces

One of the most excellent views you may see while in Ubud is from Tegallalang's rice terraces. Just to the north of the main Ubud centre is the settlement of Tegallalang. The Small restaurants serving lunch or supper with a magnificent view of the deep and verdant valley can be found along the main road of Jalan Raya Tegallalang, along with roadside booths and art galleries selling various goods and trinkets.

9. Kintamani

Mount Batur, Bali's second-tallest peak, and the Batur caldera lake are located in Kintamani, a mountain settlement in the island's heart. Due to vantage spots like Penelokan, which properly means "scenic halt," the hamlet, situated in the Karangasem region in east Bali, is a well-liked destination for sightseeing. The most excellent location for panoramic views of Batur's harsh characteristics, including its dark lava slopes and black molten rocks, is Penelokan.

10. Goa Gajah

One of the most important archaeological sites in Bali is Goa Gajah. The structure said to have formerly been a hermitage, has a central meditation cave as its main draw and a courtyard filled with ancient artefacts before a temple. You may also find exotic swimming pools and sculptured fountains in the yard. The name Goa Gajah, which translates to "Elephant Cave," may be a little deceptive to those unaware that there are no pachyderms.

Where to eat in Bali

Bali is the short, inexpensive, and occasionally unpleasant vacation spot we adore. Yes, you may shop for all the discounted DVDs and knockoff Louis Vuitton purses you want, but in recent years, Bali has nearly resembled another upscale modern city. If you will, a second house? Here are a few places to visit in Bali where you can enjoy your meal.

Fancy eats

1. Merah Putih

One of Bali's most unique locations, Merah Putih, has transparent roof columns that make rainy days enchanting. The cuisine is even more spectacular than the décor. Half of the items on the menu are traditional Indonesian fare, and half are creative, contemporary dishes. The entire chargrilled fish, batik clams, and shallot sambal are our top recommendations.

2. Saigon Street

Vietnamese cuisine that will knock your socks off is served at Siagon Street and is light, flavorful, and exciting. Try everything you can with a group of friends!

3. Taco Local

You'll have to physically restrain yourself from downing eight of their frozen coriander margaritas in one sitting at this inconspicuous taco stand, or at least we had to!

4. Sardine

This stunning traditional Balinese building views out over the nearby rice terraces and will win your heart. For succulent, authentic fish meals that are matched with organic veggies from their kitchen garden, visit Sardine.

Brunching treats

  • Sisterfields

Sisterfields' entrance is precisely (and people mean Precisely) like entering a hip new café in Melbourne. There's a reason Sisterfields has a queue out the door every day with a menu dotted with Superfood smoothies, acai bowls, lobster sliders, polenta fries, and many other trendy Melbourne-Esque menu items. Any Australian who enjoys a good café should try this for breakfast or lunch.

  • Sea Circus

Are you visiting Bodyworks for a much-needed spa day? When you don't want to let your level of relaxation slip, Sea Circus is the ideal spot to dine and drink. Another Bali gem with Melbourne café influences, Sea Circus, boasts a cuisine with a hint of Mexican flavour that would satisfy the appetite of any food enthusiast.

  • Grocer and Grind

Grocer and Grind will satisfy your want for a flavour of home when you're wary of eating nasi goreng. Fresh salads, tasty pizzas, and corn fritters will fill you up and make you come back for more.

  • Cafe Betelnut

When you're feeling chubby, come to Canggu's super-fresh and spotless Betelnut Cafe, tucked away from Seminyak's chaos. You must try the salad bowls and end your meal with a dessert that isn't bad for you.

Where to stay in Bali?

  • The Hotel W

The W Hotel's lobby entrance is similar to a scene from The Hunger Games in which you almost expect to see Jennifer Lawrence bursting through the walls brandishing a bow and arrows while yelling something about toppling the Capitol.

You can have one of the most unusual dining experiences at The W Hotel, which is typically exclusively accessible to guests. Fortunately for us, they offer an ex-pat brunch on Sundays for $50 per person, even though we obviously cannot afford to stay here. You probably won't ever see a more extensive, more gorgeous buffet in your life, making it the pinnacle of gluttony. To believe it, one must experience it. Don't forget to get a tourist visa online when you decide to go here.

  • Hotel Double 6

Double six is about as stylish as they come, with one of Bali's most well-known rooftops for sunset cocktails. Like many places in Bali, Legian Beach offers 360-degree vistas, and the eating options range from traditional Balinese cuisine and grilled meats and seafood to exceptional Italian cuisine.

  • Upasha

Upasha provides a refuge from the rush of the busy Balinese city streets on the major Seminyak thoroughfare. Pasha, which is very affordable, includes a rooftop pool, bar, and dining space that give you the impression that you are floating in the skies. If you're a hotel guest, the breakfast buffet is unmatched - folks, try the banana pancakes!

  • Anti-gravity yoga at the Four Seasons, Ubud

Join an anti-gravity yoga session at the Four Seasons in Ubud for a stress-relieving experience you won't soon forget. Not only is walking in like entering Jurassic Park but taking a private yoga lesson while hanging upside down with a view of the forest is pretty memorable.

  • Body Works

Massages at Body Works are half the price of those at home. Spend lavishly (by Bali standards) and spoil yourself at Body Works with a beautiful massage. It would help if you went through this before leaving Bali. And don't forget to apply for global evisa before you plan your next trip for more benefits.
